I know for me, music has been an incredibly important part of my coping/healing. There have been countless days when I didn't want to get out of bed. It has been almost 7 weeks since my mother died from GYN cancer (primary peritoneal) and I still feel like an elephant is on my chest. Grief, anger, fear- essentially all normal/expected feelings yet still so overwhelming. Music has been so therapeutic for me. You know that moment when the beat and words hit you and you feel it down to your core? My daughter calls it the "goosebump test". Music truly has the power to transport you to another place.
When I found out two years ago that a documentary about N.E.D. was in the works, I contacted the production company (Spark Media) and have been following the progress ever since. The movie was completed last year and has been showing in select theatres across the country; and I've been trying ever since to get it shown locally. Finally, with the help of TUGG, Help the Hoo-Hahs will be hosting a 1-night showing of N.E.D. at the Cinemark Theatre in Bluffton, SC on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 7pm. This will kick off our fundraising weekend with our 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, September 28 at 8:30 am. I am beyond excited about this opportunity but it cannot happen without enough support from the community. We have to sell 79 tickets so we need your help. Tickets go on sale August 23rd but you can "follow" the event @ http://www.tugg.com/events/4978 Please take a moment and watch the trailer. We hope to see you at the movies!
